1          Your personal data – what is it?

Personal data relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data.  Identification can be from the information alone or in conjunction with any other information in the data controller’s possession or likely to come into their possession.  Your personal data at GRNUK  is your name, address, telephone number, mobile number and email address where appropriate.  The processing of personal data is governed by the General Data Protection Regulations.

2          Who and what is the Data Controller?

NAME is the Data Controller (contact details below) for GRNUK as appointed by the Trustees.  This means he/she decides how your personal data is processed and for what purpose.

3          How is your personal data processed?

The Data Controller for GRNUK complies with his obligations under the General Data Protection Regulations by keeping personal data up to date –

  • by storing and destroying it securely (when out of date),
  • by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data,
  • by protecting personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure
  • and by ensuring appropriate technical measures are in place to protect personal data.

Your personal data is used for the following purposes –

  • To compile a Directory for GRNUK.
  • For the electronic distribution of business meeting documentation, missionary news and prayer letters with appropriate others who are listed in the current Directory.
  • To share your contact details with others at GRNUK who are listed in the current Directory.

4          What is the legal basis for processing your personal data?

  • Explicit consent of each individual concerned so that they may be kept informed about business, missionary news and prayer requests.
  • Processing only relates to those currently connected with GRNUK who wish to be kept informed about business, missionary news and prayer requests.
  • There will be no disclosure of data to any third party without consent.

5          Sharing your personal data

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with others in GRNUK in order to carry out a service to others in GRNUK or for purposes connected with

GRNUK activities.  Data will only be shared with a third party with your specific, written consent.

6          How long will your data be kept?

Data will be kept until it is out of date or you wish for it to be removed from the records.  Removal will be by a written request to the Data Controller.

7          Your rights and your personal data

Unless subject to an exemption under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data: –

  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which GRNUK holds about you;
  • The right to request that GRNUK corrects any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for GRNUK to retain such data;
  • The right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time;
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;
  • The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

8          Further processing

If GRNUK wishes to use your personal data for a new purpose, not covered by this Data Protection Notice, then GRNUK will provide you with a new notice explaining this new use prior to commencing the processing and setting out the relevant purposes and processing conditions.  Where and whenever necessary, GRNUK will seek your prior consent to the new processing.
