Finance Policy

General

Global Recordings Network United Kingdom is a non-profit missionary organisation. God is the source of all we need, and he uses various channels to supply our needs. Our main ‘strategy’ for raising funds is to bring our needs to the Lord in prayer. We do not make appeals for funds.
We are thankful that God moves the hearts of his people to give money to enable us to carry on the ministry. We are also thankful that God has provided us with some investment income which contributes towards meeting our financial needs.

Through our monthly prayer diary, and other appropriate means, we inform people of the financial and other needs of the ministry. We invite our praying partners to pray with us for God to meet those needs, and we explain how people can contribute. It is also our desire to honour God by testifying to his provision.

As a service ministry, the mission generally supplies its ministry resources at or below cost.

Financial Principles

In all our dealing with funds, we hold to the following basic principles:
  1. God is the source of our provision and we give him the credit for it.
  2. Crucial to God’s provision for our needs is our obedience to his directions and priorities. What God initiates, he will sustain.
  3. Prayer is the dominant strategy for the provision of our needs. We invite people to pray for God’s provision for our needs.
  4. We do not make appeals for funds. This does not preclude making some needs known in appropriate ways and situations.
  5. Money is never the main focus of our promotion or deputation.
  6. We avoid any manipulative techniques that attempt to encourage people to give.

Finance

Mission financial policy

  1. Our trust is in God our provider. We look to Him alone for our spiritual and material needs. We recognise that God’s people respond to His prompting to make donations and that He does this in response to prayer.
  2. The Trustees and Board have authority in financial matters and each year at the AGM will set a limit to how much the Centre Leader can spend without additional authorisation.
  3. In keeping with Biblical principles of fellowship and care for each other it is expected that all GRN members express a spirit of concern for each other.
  4. Neither GRN or GRN members will make frequent or general appeals for finance but may inform prayer supporters and trusts of the needs of the work when appropriate.
  5. All monies received for GRN projects will be used as designated by the donor. However, GRN reserve the right not to accept a gift that would place GRN, or a member, under obligation to the donor.
  6. Monies designated for an individual will go towards covering the cost of their salary. If they do not receive a salary, or if their salary has already been covered by previous gifts that year, then gifts will be passed on in full to the individual concerned.
  7. Monies designated for members in general will be shared between members, except associate members.
  8. Undesignated gifts are placed in the general fund.
  9. Gifts designated for the greatest need shall be used at the discretion of the Centre Leader or Board.
  10. GRN does not finance its normal operations with loans of any kind. Though it is recognised that individual members may, in certain circumstances, raise a loan, for example as a mortgage for the purchase of housing.
  11. No debts may be incurred on behalf of GRN in any circumstances.
  12. Financial oversight of GRN rests with the Centre Leader and Treasurer of the Board who will keep the Board and Trustees informed and follow their direction.
  13. No GRN member shall commit GRN to any expense without the written approval of the Centre Leader.
  14. It has been the practice for many years for GRN UK to tithe its income and send these funds to GRN staff worldwide for their personal or ministry needs. This is done at the discretion of the Centre Leader / Director.    These funds are not used to provide regular support for any one individual or Centre.   If the Director wishes to commit to giving a regular gift from the Tithe this should be discussed with the Board first.  The Centre Leader / Director should report on the list of recipients of gifts from the tithes to the Board on a regular basis.

Personal Financial policy

  1. Each member must look to God alone in faith to receive the support required. Members will receive what monies are sent for them through mission channels but the expectation is from God.
  2. It is essential that members develop a team of prayer and financial partners who will take a personal interest in them and their ministry.
  3. Gifts sent for a staff member who receives a salary should go toward the salary.
  4. Help with other expenses may be paid at the discretion of the Centre Leader, or in the case of their own expenses, the discretion of the Board.
  5. Expenses for associate members or voluntary helpers will be reimbursed at the discretion of the jwho receive a salary do not normally engage in paid employment, regular or otherwise, outside the mission. If they wish to do so they must consult with the Centre Leader before undertaking such an activity.
  6. The Board has a responsibility to contribute to a pension scheme when required
  7. Members are responsible for keeping records of all gifts received while working for GRN.
  8. All GRN members must disclose any monetary gifts given in connection with their work.
